Lawry’s The Prime Rib – DineLA 2nd Stop

Apparently Lawry’s began business in 1938 by Lawrence L. Frank and Walter Van de Kamp on Restaurant Row on La Cienega Boulevard in Beverly Hills, California. Of course it got popular and opened restaurants all over the world. Lawry’s has been known for serving a single entree on its menu that consisted of a standing rib roast. Theres a stainless steel looking cart that is pushed around and the meat is served to order. They are also famous for the spinning salad prepared by the waitress who spins a large metal bowl of salad on ice as she pours in the dressing.

So the dining experience with L, L, Y, T, C, G… The main lobby was extravagant. having an old classy feel and plush seats by the side. We arrived late due to traffic and had called in advance to let them know that we would be slightly late. As we waited for our table, which wasn’t that long a wait, there was a “meatballs bar” by the side which we all skipped. The interior of the restaurant had a really high ceiling, well decorated and comfortable to the eyes. We all had the dineLA menu, meaning no order was required since the salad and entree was kinda fixed with a couple choice for deserts, english trifle, chocolate pudding and creme brulee.

The “spinning salad” concept was pretty cool as our waitress poured the french dressing into the bowl. The salad was served really quickly with bread to go along on the side. The prime rib was really good as the cut was sliced by the table. Meat came out medium as requested and the spicy horseradish that came on the side went pretty well with the prime rib.

Lawry's The Prime Rib

Special 8 ounce cut, hand sliced tableside by our Master Carver, served with mashed potatoes and gravy and a side order of cream corn

Lawry's The Prime Rib

Four ounce Atlantic Lobster Tail with drawn butter

Lobster tail was only served halfway into our main entree and sure was good. The creme bulee desert to end of the meal was really good too. To sum up everything in one word… Delicious. On a side note, service was prompt and the our waitress was really friendly too. What more to ask for?
